The organization I work for is currently hiring new sales executives. When assisting with the profiling and drafting of the job description one person came to mind. He may be a novice but he has a proven track record.
My son is the best salesperson I’ve encountered. He can sell me on a later bedtime, pizza for dinner, one more book read, his innocence and his sister’s guilt. The kid is brilliant. He’s also only 2 years old. In all fairness, I believe any child would make an outstanding sales person, and here’s why.
Children are persistent. They have endless energy. When they know what they want they focus on it and develop an action plan for achieving it. Kids are typically not afraid to approach new people and pursue new opportunities. The are creative and problem solvers. Kids are competitive. They are sincere and honest. Most importantly, children always ask “why?”.
What are other key qualities that make a strong sales executive?
You know the buzzwords; inbound, outbound, content, demand gen, lead gen, martech, social media, account-based, advocacy, customer success, sales enablement, and analytics.She studies it, plans it, executes it, experiments with it, and loves it.
Through discovery, creation, and innovation she's learned to say "Yes, And".Like business, her career is one big improvisational act.
